About Dr. Marie Hutchinson
Dr. Virginia Marie Hutchinson, PhD — known to her family, friends, and the women she serves as Marie — has spent her life on a single calling: helping women see themselves as God sees them, and find healing and direction in His Word.
She holds a PhD in Christian Counseling from the International Institute of Faith-Based Counseling. She has counseled women for forty-six years. She has walked with them through marriage difficulties, divorce, the loss of children, the loneliness of empty nests, seasons of spiritual dryness, deep grief, fear, worry, and anxiety.
She founded Changed Ministries — a 501(c)(3) religious nonprofit — to make that walking-alongside available to any woman who asks.
I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8
Ministry and Family

Marie has been a Pastor’s Wife for forty-four years. Her husband, Peter, currently serves as Pastor of Freeway Baptist Church of Beaumont, Texas, where they have been for thirty-one years. They have served local churches together in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, for their entire marriage.
As Pastor and Wife, their lives have been deeply shaped by ministry — by long Sunday afternoons, hospital visits and late-night phone calls, joyful weddings and new babies, quiet funerals and graveside services, difficult pastoral conversations, and the steady, often unseen work of walking with people through every season of life across many decades.
They have stood beside individuals and families through grief and illness, marriage struggles and divorce, abandonment and betrayal, addiction and emotional pain, seasons of fear and uncertainty, and moments of restoration, healing, and renewed hope.
Decades of marriage, family life, ministry, grief, prayer, and walking with others through difficult seasons have given Marie a compassionate understanding of the burdens many women quietly carry. It is out of that life — and out of her own journey — that Changed Ministries was born.
Together they have five children, eight grandchildren here, and three in Heaven.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. II Corinthians 4:5

Brother Pete, Marie, and their five children
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Psalm 127:3
Through my own personal journey of brokenness, healing, and restoration in Christ, God placed a deep calling on my life to help women find hope, healing, renewed identity, and lasting freedom through His Word.
— Marie
